The Emergency Operations center at
the Apalachicola Airport will soon have a new
roof.
The
Emergency Management Office has received a 98 thousand dollar grant through
which the federal government will pay about 74 thousand dollars and the county
will pay 24 thousand to install a new hip roof on the EOC building.
The
county’s portion will come from the capitol outlay budget.
The
new roof will be designed to withstand 140 mile an hour winds.
The
project is definitely needed.
Emergency
Management Director Pam Brownell said when it
rains now it drips on her head.
The
project will be bid out so local businesses will be able to apply for the work.
