Lost Kitty Found in Carrabelle, FL (Florida Panhandle), Possibly Off a Cruising Vessel
Posted by Claiborne Young | Posted on 11-19-2013
I know this is a long shot, but a Tallahassee family found a cat along the waterfront in Carrabelle FL that had appeared to have fallen in the water and swum ashore a day or more before it showed up. Because of the “looper” season and the large number of live-aboard boats that gather in Carrabelle before making the crossing, it is possible that this cat may have been lost by a transient boat that has moved on. The cat is striking so if the owner reads this, he or she will recognize it immediately. The cat is a female long haired golden tabby, shy at first but once contact was made is affectionate and sweet. She is housed at the Franklin County Humane Society shelter. If someone in the boating community lost such a cat, sometime between Nov 4-8, they may call me at 931-636-2145 (I am a part time employee of the Humane Society). The cat is being neutered and will up available for adoption shortly, so it is important that they make contact soon.
