Reception for Justin Riney scheduled for Saturday in Apalachicola

Justin Riney, from the group Mother Ocean, will in be in Apalachicola on Saturday as he completes his exploration of the Apalachicola River.

Mister Riney is nearing the end of Expedition Florida 500, a modern-day exploration of Florida’s coastline, waterways, lakes, springs, and Everglades.

2013 is Florida's 500th anniversary since Ponce de Leon landed on Florida’s coastline back in 1513.

In celebration of the anniversary, Mister Riney has spent the past year traveling Florida’s coastal and inland waterways.

Riney started his exploration of the Apalachicola River on December the 5^th in Chattahoochee and will land in Apalachicola tomorrow.

There will be a public reception for him on Saturday from 10 till noon at the Apalachicola Bay Area Chamber of commerce office.
