Five vehicle burglaries reported to unsecured vehicles in Wakulla County






Wakulla County Sheriff’s Office detectives are investigating five vehicle burglaries that were reported overnight March 5 and March 6 on Ross Drive and Linzy Store Road in Crawfordville, according to Sheriff Charlie Creel.

One victim reported the theft of a DVD player while items taken from other victims included cigarettes, a flashlight, firearm, holster and handgun magazine. The victims reported that they failed to secure their vehicles before retiring for the night.

The stolen property is valued at $50 or less except for the firearm, holster and magazine which are valued at $1,110. The weapon was entered into the NCIC/FCIC data base as stolen.

Sheriff Creel reminded the public to always lock you vehicle and remove valuable belongings. None of the five vehicle burglary cases reported involved secured vehicles.
