Gulf Council to Convene a Meeting of its 
Socioeconomic  Scientific and Statistical Committee
  
The Gulf of Mexico Fishery Management Council has scheduled a meeting of its SESSC Tuesday, August 5, 2014. The meeting will be held at the Gulf Council office, 2203 N. Lois Avenue, Suite 1100, in Tampa, Florida, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Eastern time. 

The SESSC will review and discuss Reef Fish Amendment 28 - Red Snapper Allocation, as well as documents related to red snapper allocation, including the Agar and Carter's Economic Efficiency Analysis of Red Snapper Allocation Alternatives for Reef Fish Amendment 28 (King and Buc).

The Committee will also discuss incorporating economics into stock assessments.

About the Gulf of Mexico Fishery Management Council
The Gulf of Mexico Fishery Management Council is one of eight regional Fishery Management Councils established by the Fishery Conservation and Management Act of 1976. The Council prepares fishery management plans, which are designed to manage fishery resources within the 200-mile limit of the Gulf of Mexico.
