Time running out to apply for disaster loan
The deadline to apply for Economic Injury Disaster Loans because of the oyster fishery failure is coming up soon.
The US Small Business Administration is providing Economic Injury Disaster Loans to small businesses and non-profit groups who have been financially hit because of the decline of the Apalachicola Bay oyster population.
Eligible businesses and non-profits can be in Franklin County and the neighboring counties of Gulf, Liberty or Wakulla.
The deadline to return economic injury applications is July 31st.
Businesses may be eligible for loans up to $2 million dollars with rates at 3 percent for non-profit organizations and 4 percent for small businesses with terms up to 30 years.
Applications and program information are available by sending an email to disastercustomerservice@sba.gov.
If you would like to apply for a loan, applications can be downloaded from the SBA's website at http://www.sba.gov.
