COAST GUARD SUSPENDS SEARCH FOR MISSING BOATER NEAR ST. MARKS, FLORIDA


MOBILE, Ala. - The Coast Guard suspended search efforts for a missing boater 50-miles south of St. Marks, Florida, Tuesday.
Missing is 60 year-old George Taylor of Tallahassee, who was reportedly sailing his 27-foot Catalina sailboat from St. Marks to Carrabelle, Florida.
The search was suspended at 11:42 a.m. and covered 10,358 square nautical miles over the course of 60 hours.
Multiple Coast Guard search assets were utilized which included three 87-foot patrol boats, several response boats from Coast Guard Station Panama City, aircraft out of Coast Guard Aviation Training Center Mobile, Alabama and Coast Guard Air Station Clearwater, as well as Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and other local agencies.
The search is suspended pending further developments.
