County parks director arrested for stealing little league football fees

On November 14, 2014 The Franklin County Sheriff's Office was contacted by concerned parents in reference to their Youth Football Registration fees collected by the Franklin County Parks and Recreation Department.  Franklin County Detectives retrieved copies of the deposits made by the Director of Parks and Recreation, Catherine Nicole Millender, from the County Finance Department.  Money deposited by Mrs. Millender didn't correspond with the number of children registered to participate. When questioned about the discrepancy on November 18, 2014, Millender gave a confession to Franklin County Detectives that she did in fact steal the cash registration fees for the 2013 and 2014 youth football seasons.  Millender has been charged with two counts of Grand Theft third degree.
