Guardian Ad Litem program seeks local volunteers

The Guardian Ad litem program is looking for local volunteers.

For nearly 30 years the Guardian Ad Litem program has represented the best interests of abused and neglected children in court, generally in non-criminal court cases like divorces.

Many of the nearly 30 thousand children using the program statewide are the victims of abuse, abandonment or neglect.

Currently there are 9 Franklin County children being represented by a Guardian Ad Litem – there are 5 local volunteers in the program.

But more volunteers are always needed.

If you would like to help, on average you would have to devote 4-6 hours a month to the program.

If you would like to learn more about the program or get an application – call 747-5180 or visit www.guardianadlitem.org.
