Telemarketers violating
Florida’s statewide Do Not Call List once again topped the list of consumer
complaints in Florida in October.
The issue tops the Department of Consumer Services complaint
list almost every month – there are over 730 thousand telephone numbers on the state’s
Do not call list.
Cable television and fuel issues rounded out the top three
complaints last month
The agency received over 4000 complaints in October.
Besides registering consumer complaints, the department also
registered nearly 8500 new businesses and recovered over 725 thousand dollars
on behalf of Florida consumers.
Filing a complaint against a business in Florida is relatively
easy to do by calling the consumer protection and information hotline at
1-800-HELP-FLA.
