In anticipation of receiving a grant to prepare a
preservation plan for Chestnut Street Cemetery
in Apalachicola the Apalachicola Historical
Society is preparing an inventory of the grave markers in the cemetery. The inventory consists of filling out a one
page form which records data on the size, material, condition and inscriptions
of each marker. Mark Curenton is heading
up this activity, and would welcome anyone interested in assisting in this
work. If you are interested in helping
he will be at the cemetery on Saturday mornings, weather permitting, around 10
o’clock working on the inventory or you can contact him at
