Crawfordville, Florida – During the Florida Association of Counties 2014 Legislative Conference, Commissioner Ralph Thomas was selected to serve as Vice-Chairman on the Rural Caucus Committee. The Rural Caucus consists of representatives from rural counties with the focus of addressing issues and legislation that is specific and significant to rural counties. The priority issues for 2015 are Medicaid County Cost Cap, Enterprise Zones, and Amendment 1 implementation.
Additionally, Commissioner Thomas was elected to the Executive Committee of the Small County Coalition. He will represent the Northern Gulf Region which includes Wakulla, Franklin, Gulf, Walton, Jefferson, and Santa Rosa Counties. The Small County Coalition consists of 37 counties with populations less than 150,000.
“The Citizens of Wakulla County elected me to serve,” stated Commissioner Thomas. “It is an honor for me to be in a position to communicate the concerns of our small county on a state-wide level with both of these organizations.”
