FWC seeks input on proposed quail hunting rules

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is proposing rule amendments on four Quail Enhancement Areas including the one at the Apalachicola Wildlife Management Area and are asking for public input on the proposals.
The changes, if adopted, changes would include removing quota permit requirements and establishing a bag limit of 6 bobwhite per person.
They would also establish up to 16 days of quail hunting in January and February.
The FWC says the main objectives of these amendments are to expand hunting opportunities and hunter satisfaction while allowing bobwhite populations to expand.
If the changes are approved they will be implemented for the 2015 – 2016 hunting season.
If you would like to provide feedback on the proposed changes, the FWC has an on-line survey you can take.
