Franklin county seeks qualifications from debris removal companies

County commissioners are looking for companies to provide debris removal services after a major storm.

The county has annual contracts with companies that specialize in debris clean-up, but Emergency Management Director Pam Brownell said those contracts end next month and she would like the new contracts in place before the 2015 hurricane season gets active.

The board last week agreed to seek qualifications from companies interested in providing the service.

The qualifications will be considered by a committee before making a recommendation to the county commission for final action.
