Gulf Council Update to Convene its 
Ad Hoc Red Snapper Charter For-hire Advisory Panel

The Gulf of Mexico Fishery Management Council's Ad Hoc Red Snapper Charter For-hire Advisory Panel will meet Wednesday, May 13, 2015, from 8:30 am - 5:00 pm at the Council office in Tampa, Florida.  

The Panel will review information relevant to the charter-for-hire component of the reef fish fishery and discuss management approaches for that component.

The Ad Hoc Panel will also make recommendations relative to the design and implementation of flexibe measures for the management of red snapper for the for-hire fleet, which will be presented to the Council during its June meeting in Key West, Florida.

About the Gulf of Mexico Fishery Management Council
The Gulf of Mexico Fishery Management Council is one of eight regional Fishery Management Councils established by the Fishery Conservation and Management Act of 1976. The Council prepares fishery management plans, which are designed to manage fishery resources within the 200-mile limit of the Gulf of Mexico.
