Gulf County Sheriff Mike
Harrison will host a memorial service on Wednesday, May 13, 2015, to remember
the law enforcement officers who lost their lives in the line of duty.
National Police Week will
be observed across the United States from Sunday, May 10th through
Saturday, May 16th
The public is cordially
invited to attend the service, which will take place on the steps of the Gulf
County Courthouse at 10:00am EDT. The service is expected to last for approximately
twenty minutes. It will include the presentation of the Colors by the Port St.
Joe High School NJROTC, the reading of the names of officers who gave their
life for the safety and protection of others from the state of Florida for
2014, and a twenty-one gun salute by the Gulf County Sheriff’s Office Honor
Guard.
“The sound of bagpipes and
taps will be heard as we pay tribute to those who gave their life in service to
their community,” said Sheriff Harrison.
