April 28, 2015 Gulf Council Update to Convene its  Ad Hoc Reef Fish Headboat Advisory Panel The Gulf of Mexico Fishery Management Council's Ad Hoc Reef Fish Headboat Advisory Panel will meet Tuesday, May 19, 2015, from 8:30 am - 5:00 pm in New Orleans, Louisiana at the Astor Crowne Plaza Hotel.   The charge of the Advisory Panel is to make recommendations to the Council relative to the design and implementation of flexible measures for the management of reef fish for the headboat component of the for-hire sector.  The Panel will discuss data collection methods for the Southeast Headboat Survey and receive an overview of the headboat component of the reef fish fishery. The Advisory Panel will also discuss: reef fish species to include in the Headboat Management Plan management objectives for the headboat component management approaches for the headboat component Finally, the Ad Hoc Reef Fish Headboat Advisory Panel will develop management recommendations which will be presented to the Council during its June meeting in Key West, Florida.
