Dear friends of the Aquarium,
Thomas Berry once said, "Teaching children about the natural world should be treated as one of the most important events of their lives." He could not have been more correct in this view of thinking. Environmental education has proven to be an important aspect here at Gulf Specimen Marine Lab. We want it to be something fun and interactive for both children and parents alike; an experience where both adults and children walk out feeling enthused about the marine realm. Starting this Saturday, May 9th, we will begin to incorporate an hour interactive lesson with general admission. These lessons will focus on a certain animal group, and will be given on a weekly basis at 1:00 p.m. THEY WILL RANGE FROM ANIMAL FEEDINGS TO FUN SEMINARS AND GAMES. Of course, our animals will be the main attraction. Don't miss out on this fantastic chance to see all that Gulf Specimen has to offer, and learn more about the creatures that inhabit the body of water so important to us.
Sincerely,
Cypress Rudloe, Executive Manager
Katie Chandler, Environmental Educator
