Local unemployment falls slightly in June

Unemployment in Franklin County fell in June.
Local unemployment dropped from 4.7 percent to 4.4 percent last month – giving Franklin County the third lowest unemployment rate out of Florida’s 67 counties.
Labor statistics released last week show 213 people were looking for work in Franklin County in June; 12 fewer than in May.
The workforce also increased by 17 people.
Gulf County also saw a slight drop in unemployment last month.
Unemployment fell from 5.1 to 4.9 percent – 309 people were looking for work out of a total workforce of 6039 people.
Unemployment in Wakulla County fell from 4.8 to 4.7 percent, in Liberty county unemployment was 5.9 percent.
