Register to vote if you live in Apalachicola or Carrabelle

Elections will be held in the Cities of Apalachicola and Carrabelle next month so if you have not yet registered to vote you need to do it soon.

The deadline to register is August the 10^th – you can register at the Supervisor of Elections office in Apalachicola or at the county annex in Carrabelle.

You can also download the form from the Supervisor of Election website at votefranklin.com and mail it in.

These will be important elections.

Carrabelle voters will have three races to decide.

City Commissioner Brenda La Paz will face Joe Ham in the race for Mayor.

There are also 5 candidates seeking 2 seats on the city commission.

They include Mel Kelly, Frank Mathes, Chester Reese, Gene Spivey and Keith Walden.

Apalachicola will have two races to decide.

Current mayor Van Johnson is seeking re-election, he will face Gregory P. Wynot in that race.

City Commissioner Jimmy Elliot is also seeking re-election to the commission, he will face Charles Kienzle in the race for seat 2.

Election Day is Tuesday, September 8th and early voting is will be held August 31^st through September 4^th.
