FWC taking comments on draft Imperiled Species Management Plan

The state of Florida is now taking public comments on the draft of the Florida Imperiled Species Management Plan.
The plan combines managing the specific needs of 57 imperiled species across the state with a new, larger-scale strategy addressing how to help multiple fish and wildlife species thrive in the habitats they share.
17 of the species can be found in our area including the American Oystercatcher, Black Skimmer and Wakulla Seaside Sparrow along with the Alligator Snapping turtle, Florida Pine Snake and the Gopher frog.
The FWC designed the plan to make more efficient use of its resources - The FWC first approved this new conservation model in 2010.
The public is invited to read and comment on the draft of the plan, with the opportunity to provide feedback over the next 60 days.

You can find the plan online at MyFWC.com/Imperiled.
