Local unemployment unchanged in October

Unemployment in Franklin County was unchanged between September and October.

Local unemployment was 4.3 percent last month – giving Franklin County the fifth lowest unemployment rate out of Florida’s 67 counties.

Labor statistics released last week show 204 people were looking for work in Franklin County in October, 4 fewer than in September.

The workforce also decreased by 113 people.

Gulf County unemployment fell from 4.9 to 4.6 percent.

282 people were looking for work in Gulf County in October.

Unemployment in Wakulla County was unchanged at 4.4 percent, in Liberty county unemployment fell slightly to 5.2 percent.
