Red Tide still in North Florida waters

Red Tide continues to be found in Northwest Florida waters.
Red Tide is an organism that in large enough concentrations can kill fish and cause skin, throat and lung irritation in humans.
Based on satellite images, fish kill reports, and analysis of water samples, blooms of the Florida red tide organism are currently present along Bay, and Gulf counties in Northwest Florida .
It was detected in background to medium concentrations in 8 samples collected inshore of Bay County; and low to medium concentrations in 7 samples collected inshore of Gulf County.

Officials expect the red tide bloom patches to move slightly west in Northwest Florida over the short term.
