Franklin county Commissioners recognize retiring employee

Franklin county Commissioners last week recognized a long time employee who is retiring from county service.

The board presented a resolution of appreciation to Ricky Rickards who is retiring after 35 years with the county public works department.

He started working for Franklin County in 1980 on a labor crew, and then became an inmate supervisor before becoming a truck driver.

Commissioners wished him the best in retirement.

Commission chairman William Massey called him “one of the best workers that’s ever been with Franklin County.”
