The
City of Apalachicola has named its representative to the county’s RESTORE
council.
The
RESTORE council is a 7 member board created to consider projects proposed for
funding through any money Franklin County receives from fines levied on BP
because of the 2010 oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.
County commissioners will name 5 of the members, 2 are appointed by the
Cities of Apalachicola and Carrabelle.
Last week the City of Apalachicola named Mayor Van Johnson to serve on
the council.
Carrabelle will be represented by its Mayor, Brenda La Paz.
The County named members include Lynn Martina who will fill the tourism
seat and Otis Amison will represent fisheries.
Rose
Mccoy will fill the economic development seat and Erik Lovestrand will
represent environmental issues.
The
county still needs to name someone to the non-governmental seat.
The
first meeting of the RESTORE Council will be held on Tuesday, December the 15th
at 5 PM at the Franklin County courthouse Annex in Apalachicola.
