The Franklin County Health department will cut back on
the dental services it offers in Franklin County beginning next year.
The
Health Department said that its Carrabelle dental clinic will close on December
the 31st – the clinic was first opened in 2012 to help lower income residents.
The
dental clinic at the Franklin County School will remain open but will
restructure its focus to provide preventative services to children in the area.
The
Health Department said it is moving to a school-based sealant model that will
serve primarily Medicaid eligible and uninsured children beginning Jan. 1,
2016.
Current
Patients at the Carrabelle dental clinic will be referred to Rhonda Wilhite at
Florida Department of Health in Gulf County.
The
Carrabelle Clinic will remain open part-time providing services such as Women’s
Health, Immunizations, WIC, and Vital Statistics.
