Gulf
County sheriff’s deputies arrested a known sexual predator in Wewahitchka on
Tuesday after his victim texted a message for help.
Deputies arrested Timothy W. Williams at his
home on Timberlane Road, north of Wewahitchka.
Williams is a sexual predator and
was on sex offender probation after his release from prison in early November.
Officials were alerted to the
situation at about 4 o’clock in the afternoon central time when a caller
reported a text from their mother claiming she was being held against her will
at gunpoint.
There was enough information in the message for
deputies to find William’s home, locate the victim and quickly make an arrest.
Investigators said earlier in the
day the victim had offered Williams a ride to Port St. Joe.
While returning to Wewahitchka,
Williams solicited the victim for sex.
When the victim refused, Williams
forced the victim into a wooded area at gunpoint and sexually battered her.
He later tied her hands with zip
ties and forced her to go to his home where he continued to hold her against
her will.
Williams was charged with
Kidnapping, Sexual Battery, and Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
He is being held without bond.
