Advisory Message: FLOOD ADVISORY

THE FLOOD WARNING CONTINUES FOR THE FOLLOWING RIVERS IN FLORIDA... 

APALACHICOLA RIVER NEAR BLOUNTSTOWN AFFECTING CALHOUN ... FRANKLIN ... GULF AND LIBERTY COUNTIES 
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... 
ALL PERSONS WITH INTEREST ALONG THE RIVER SHOULD MONITOR THE LATEST FORECASTS... AND BE PREPARED TO TAKE NECESSARY PRECAUTIONS TO PROTECT LIFE AND PROPERTY. 

WARNING & RIVER INFORMATION: 
The Flood Warning continues for the Apalachicola River at Woodruff L&D. 
* Until further notice 
* At 8:45 AM Monday the stage was 22 Feet 
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. 
* Flood stage is 15.0 feet. 

* At 8:15am the Blountstown gauge observation was 22.0ft. 
* MODERATE FLOODING IS OCCURRING. 
* FLOOD STAGE IS 15.0 FEET. 
THE 22.0 FT LEVEL AT BLOUNTSTOWN MAY AT TIMES NOT BE REPRESENTATIVE OF RIVER LEVELS IN THE THESE AREAS DUE TO TIDAL EFFECTS...WINDS OR LOCAL RAINFALL AND SHOULD BE USED WITH CAUTION. 
Please remember that the Flint River in Georgia feeds into the Woodruff Dam and its level is still extremely high. So it may take some time before we see river levels come below flood stages. 
ROAD CLOSURES: 
FWC has closed these areas all of Saul Creek Unit, Bloody Unit and portions of the Quinn and Doyle Creek Tracts. They have also closed Butcher Pen Landing, Bloody Bluff Landing and Van Horn Landing campgrounds due to flooding and water is already across road in some places. 
Gardner’s Landing is now closed due to Flooding. 
Pine Log Road in Apalachicola is now closed due to Flooding.

HIGH TIDE 12:09 AM 1.3 FT 
LOW TIDE 8:51 AM -.05 FT 
HIGH TIDE 4:15 PM 1.1 FT 
LOW TIDE 8:02 LOW 0.9 FT 


• If you live directly on the water’s edge, or if your home is subject to flooding due to River flooding alone the Apalachicola River, be extremely vigilant during the next couple of days as the water starts to flow down the river from the heavy amounts of rain fall in the north. 

Please remember that when flood waters rise; animals such as reptiles and ant balls are looking for higher ground. Animals that feel threatened can become very unpredictable. Be aware of your surroundings and stay safe. 

• DO NOT DRIVE CARS THROUGH FLOODED AREAS. IF YOU SEE FLOOD WATERS...REMEMBER TO TURN AROUND AND DO NOT DROWN!
