Meeting Announcement March 11, 2016   Gulf Council to Hold a Reef Fish Advisory Panel Meeting via Webinar    The Gulf of Mexico Fishery Management Council has scheduled a meeting of its Reef Fish Advisory Panel, April 1, 2016 beginning at 10:30 am and concluding no later than 12:30 pm. The meeting will be held via webinar - register here.   The Advisory Panel will discuss a Framework Action to Modify Red Grouper Annual Catch Limits and make recommendations to the Council.   After reviewing a recent stock assessment, the Council's SSC concluded that the red grouper stock is neither overfished nor undergoing overfishing, and increased the acceptable biological catch (ABC).  Based on the SSC's conclusions, the Council is considering whether to also increase the annual catch limit (ACL), which can be set below or equal to the ABC.   The agenda and supporting documents can be found on the Council's file server.
