County
commissioners are taking action against a property in Eastpoint that they say
is being used as an illegal RV park.
County officials said people are living in numerous
RVs and other vehicles, including a van, at a single family lot at 23 Washington
Street.
The county has received numerous complaints about
the situation.
Health Department officials have also responded to
complaints of raw sewage on the ground and though they did not find sewage
during a recent inspection they did say that only one unit on the property has
a sewer connection.
The Health Department said that under Florida law
the property is being used as an RV park, and that is a violation of the
county’s zoning rules.
Commissioners voted to turn the issue over to the
county attorney for a recommendation on how best to deal with the situation.
