A limited number of workshops are being provided by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services and IFAS Sea Grant to assist harvesters, aquaculture lease holders, shellfish growers, shellfish farmers and authorized users in Florida to attain the annual harvester education training required for certification, recertification or licensing. These requirements are outlined in NSSP Guide Section II, Chapter X.
During the month of May, the educational training video will be shown at the Shellfish Center in Apalachicola (260 Dr. Frederick S. Humpheries St), at 3pm, every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
During the month of June, the educational training video will be shown at the Shellfish Center in Apalachicola (260 Dr. Frederick S. Humpheries St), at 3pm, Monday thru Friday, through June 24th.
No SPL license or aquaculture certificate will be issued without proof of annual training.
