Highway 98 construction work begins in Gulf County next week

Construction activities will begin next week on a one-mile section of Highway 98 in Gulf County.

The project will extend from the Gulf County Canal Bridge to south of the Highway 98 realignment in Gulf County. 

The 740 thousand dollar construction project will include resurfacing the existing roadway, minor safety improvements, new signage and pavement markings. 

Construction is anticipated to be complete fall 2016.

Work is expected to begin on August the 8^th.

Drivers can expect intermittent lane closures through the duration of the project and are reminded to pay attention to the reduced speed limit when traveling through the construction area.
