Area 1652 and
area 1662 of the Apalachicola Bay will reopen to oyster harvesting at
sunrise Monday.
Area 1652 is the
conditionally approved summer north shellfish harvesting area; area
1662 is the conditionally approved summer south area.
Both areas of the
bay were closed this week after heavy rains crossed our area.
The Department of
Agriculture says recent water samples show the waters meet the
standards to be reopened for oyster harvesting.
