Area 1652 of the Apalachicola Bay closing to Oyster harvesting at sunset today

 The Department of Agriculture will close area 1652 to oyster harvesting at sunset today.

Area 1652 is the Conditionally Approved Summer North Shellfish harvesting area.

The area is being closed because of recent rainfall.

Biologists will take water samples from the area and reopen when samples show the water quality is acceptable for oyster harvesting.
