All areas of the Apalachicola Bay closed to oyster harvesting due to storm surge from Hurricane Nate

All oyster harvesting areas of the Apalachicola Bay will be closed at sunset today as a precaution because of potential storm surge from Hurricane Nate.

The closure affects the approved winter areas 1601 and 1611 and the conditionally approved winter harvesting areas 1612, 1622, 1632 and 1642.

The areas will be reopened as soon as possible – stay tuned to Oyster Radio for reopening information as it becomes available.
