A routine traffic stop turned into an arrest Sunday after the highway patrol pulled over a convicted felon carrying guns and drugs

A routine traffic stop turned into an arrest Sunday after the highway patrol pulled over a convicted felon carrying guns and drugs.

Highway patrol trooper Henning was on patrol near Summer Camp at about 430 Sunday afternoon when he noticed a 2012 Honda Accord following another vehicle to close.

Trooper Henning conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle on Highway 98 in front of Summer Camp and noticed the driver was nervous and was showing signs of criminal activity.

The driver did not have a drivers license.

The driver was asked to exit the vehicle and a search of the vehicle found a loaded AK-9 9MM Lugar automatic pistol in the right floorboard under a towel, 81 grams of an unknown plant material, 2 grams of marijuana, 8 grams of a white power substance, a digital scale, and a box of 9mm ammo.

The driver was later identified as 24 year old Jimmy Quintero of Tallahassee.

He was placed under arrest without incident and transported to the Franklin County Jail.


He has been charged with Possession of Firearm by a convicted Felon, Possession of Less than 20G or marijuana, driving without a license and Following too Closely.
