The Gulf of Mexico Fishery Management Council is trying to see how the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted fishing and fishing communities

The Gulf of Mexico Fishery Management Council is trying to see how the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted fishing and fishing communities.

The Council would like to hear from fishermen and others involved in fishing-related businesses whose fishing effort or businesses has been directly affected by COVID-19.

The information will help the Council as it considers temporary or long-term changes to regulations that may offset economic impacts from the pandemic.

They plan to discuss the impacts of COVID-19 and may consider management changes to ease those impacts at their meeting in June.

There is an on-line survey you can take to provide information.

You can find it at gulfcouncil.org.
