The Camp Gordon Johnston World War 2 Museum at Carrabelle Beach is beginning an expansion project that will give the museum room to store their World War 2 military vehicles.

Work is just beginning on a new 1500 square foot metal building that will allow the museum to store their military vehicles that have been in need of a permanent home for a long time.

The Museum owns three vehicles, including a is a six-wheel drive amphibious

truck known as a Duck, which was used by the U.S. military during World War II and the Korean War.

The DUKW is displayed at the museum for special events but is currently kept in Tallahassee.

Work on the foundation has just begun and the building should be finished and operational by mid July.

The cost of the building along with electrical service and the foundation is nearly 45 thousand dollars.

The money has been raised with lots of fund raising events, donations, raffles tickets and more.

The project will deplete the museum's building account to zero, so if anyone would like to donate please stop by the museum or you can donate on-line at www.campgordonjohnston.com.
