Franklin County saw a big jump in tourist development tax collections in July.
The July 2021 collections were 0ver 551 thousand dollars.
The increase is due in part to an increase in the local tourist development tax from 2 percent to 3 percent.
July was the first month of the three percent collections rate.
Collections in July, 2020 was just over 253 thousand dollars.
TDC director John Solomon added that Franklin County continues to see impressive tourism numbers.
He said even if the collections rate had remained at 2 percent the county would have collected over 367 thousand dollars which would have been a one month collections record.
