The Franklin County commission on Tuesday recognized the Franklin County Tourist Development Council for its recent win of a Henry award for its Forgotten Coast Mobile App.

The TDC received the Henry award in rural county marketing for the “Florida’s Forgotten Coast” app.

The Henry is the highest award level in each category of the annual Flagler Awards.

This was Franklin County's first Henry Award and it makes the 4th Flagler award the Franklin county TDC has won in the past two years winning 2 bronze and 1 silver award last year.

The Florida's Forgotten Coast app was created last year to help visitors access information about area amenities, events, beach conditions, lodging, restaurants, shopping and outdoor recreation opportunities with just a click on their phone or tablet.

It is currently in use by over 5000 people – it can be downloaded from the Google Play store and the Apple App Store.

TDC director John Solomon credited the hard work of the TDC as well as county commissioners, lodging providers and hospitality workers.
