Apalachicola and Port St. Joe, FL- The Florida Department of Health in Franklin and Gulf (DOH-Franklin/Gulf) is committed to providing vaccinations to prevent and control the spread of COVID-19.
The United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) granted approval under emergency use authorization (EUA) for both Moderna and Pfizer-BioNTech bivalent COVID-19 boosters. On Thursday, September 1, 2022, the CDC endorsed recommendations for use of updated COVID-19 boosters from Pfizer-BioNTech for people ages 12 years and older and from Moderna for people ages 18 years and older.
These COVID-19 boosters are available at both health department locations in Franklin and Gulf Counties. Please call the Franklin and Gulf County Health Department Locations:

Individuals 18 years of age and older are eligible for a single booster dose of the Moderna bivalent COVID-19 vaccine if it has been at least two months since they have completed primary vaccination or have received the most recent booster dose with any authorized or approved monovalent COVID-19 vaccine. Individuals 12 years of age and older are eligible for a single booster dose of the PfizerBioNTech bivalent COVID-19 vaccine if it has been at least two months since they have completed primary vaccination or have received the most recent booster dose with any authorized or approved monovalent COVID-19 vaccine.
