The shores of St. Joseph Bay possess several archaeological sites that have received limited professional investigation despite their significance. During Pre-Columbian times, this area was the hub of a large shellfish industry entailing acquisition, processing, tool manufacture, and distribution. For centuries this industry served indigenous communities not only in Florida but throughout the Southeast and Midwest of North America

Pre-Columbian Archaeological Research Group (PCARG) will share their project, discussing the cultural heritage of the region and the foundation’s current and future research.

The market occurs on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays starting in February thru the first weekend of December at the corner of Reid Avenue and Hwy 71 in City Commons Park. The market is a 501c3 non-profit staffed by volunteers.

Next Market will be this Saturday, September 17.

Our members get benefits that do more, like healthcare coverage that includes Prosper Benefits to help you save throughout the year on your healthcare needs.
