Franklin
County’ temporary burn ban has been extended by another week.
The ban took effect
on October the 7th, and was approved for 7 days with a possible extension for
an additional week.
Commission
Chairman Ricky Jones agreed today to extend the ban until next Friday.
We have had
very little rain for a number of weeks, making conditions ripe for wildfires.
The burn ban
prohibits open fires, yard trash burning and the use of outdoor burning
devices.
There is an exception for outdoor grills used in preparing
food.
The grill must be monitored at all times and be completely
extinguished immediately following completion of food preparation.
The ban also prohibits the use of fireworks and flares.
Gulf County is also under a burn ban until further notice.
