Franklin County will be able to add about 20 more parking spaces in the center of St. George Island.
The Franklin County Commission last week approved a nearly 96 thousand dollar change order that will allow additional parking spaces at three locations.
The locations include 2 sites just to the west of the new parking area at 1st street west across from the Naumann Group and BJ’s Pizza.
An additional parking area will be created at 3rd Street West for the recently completed dune walkover.
The added parking improvements will include compacted base, gravel and delineated parking along with landscaping improvements.
The money for the project is coming through the American Rescue Plan Act.
