Sucralose, a persistent artificial sweetener, escapes wastewater treatment and impacts aquatic environments, potentially disrupting microbial communities and threatening ecosystem balance. Learn how this additive poses risks to our ecosystems.

UF/IFAS Extension Putnam County offered a drone camp for Florida 4-H members that ultimately culminated in an exam and FAA certification to fly drones. The training equips youth with skills for future career opportunities related to drone technology. 

Sarah Strauss, UF/IFAS associate professor, received a USDA grant to study improving soil productivity for high-intensity tomato farming in Florida, focusing on alternative methods to boost yields and resist pests, diseases, and climate impacts.

A geomatic sciences project at UF/IFAS Extension St. Lucie County used iNaturalist to document wildflowers. Volunteers recorded many observations through bioblitzes. You can aid in identification accuracy by participating in crowdsourced efforts.
