Whatever you choose, be assured that from Alligator Point to Apalachicola, Franklin County will celebrate four days of America’s 250th birthday with festivities beginning July 1.
July 1 – Eastpoint Celebrate Independence Day bayside at the Eastpoint Freedom Festival hosted by the Eastpoint Civic Association. Beginning around 6 p.m. at the Patton Street Boat Ramp, the festival features live music, local food trucks, family-friendly fun, and a laid-back community atmosphere along the waterfront. As the evening winds down, gather along the Bay for a fireworks display.
July 2 – Carrabelle Kick off the celebration in Carrabelle with the community's annual Independence Day fireworks display and Golf Cart Parade along the beautiful Carrabelle River. Arrive early to browse the town's unique shops, enjoy dinner at one of Carrabelle's locally owned restaurants, and discover the charm of this historic fishing community before gathering along the waterfront for an evening fireworks show over the river.
July 3 – Apalachicola Historic Apalachicola comes alive with patriotic spirit during its annual Waterfront July 3rd Celebration at Riverfront Park hosted by the Apalachicola Bay Chamber of Commerce & Visitor Center. Enjoy live music, food vendors, and family-friendly fun beginning at 5 p.m., then join the beloved Red, White & Blue Parade. Bring your decorated golf cart, bicycle, wagon, skateboard, or simply walk along in your red, white, and blue. Parade participants should line up at 6:00 p.m. at Lafayette Park, with the parade stepping off at 6:30 p.m. The evening concludes with a spectacular fireworks display over the Apalachicola River.
July 4 – St. George Island The legendary SGI 4th Of July Wet n Wild Water Parade returns for one of the most unique Independence Day traditions on the coast. Decorate your golf cart, float, bike, vehicle, or walking group and prepare for a patriotic water fight unlike any other. Expect plenty of water, lots of laughter, and small-town Fourth of July fun before ending the day with fireworks over the Gulf.

| Learn About Sea Turtles in Weekly Talks Learn about the fascinating world of sea turtles—from their nesting behavior and biology to the local efforts helping protect them. These Tuesday afternoon weekly afternoon talks at Eastpoint's ANERR Visitor Center cover the area’s conservation and monitoring programs, and easy ways residents and visitors can make our beaches safe and welcoming for nesting turtles. After the 2 pm talk, stick around to chat with Reserve staff and members of the St. George Island Volunteer Turtle Patrol—your go-to experts for all things turtle! This free, family friendly event is a great way to beat the heat and connect with the coast.

| | Carrabelle's Role in American History Exhibit July 4 - September 30 The Carrabelle History Museum is proud to present a featured exhibit, “Foundations of Freedom – Carrabelle’s Role in America’s Story.” This exhibit will be on display from Saturday, July 4 through Wednesday, September 30. This unique exhibit, in honor of America’s 250th birthday, tells the story of Carrabelle’s history, independence, democratic participation, and civic identity through artifacts, photographs, and stories. Visitors can explore this exhibit on Wednesdays from 12 to 5 pm ET, Thursdays through Saturdays from 10 am to 5 pm ET, and Sundays from 12 to 5 pm ET. Admission is free, with donations warmly welcomed.

| CGJ D-Day Commemoration Exhibits Open Through July 18 The Camp Gordon Johnston WWII Museum in Carrabelle will present a special exhibit commemorating the anniversary of D-Day. This exhibit will open on Tuesday, June 2 and will be on display until Saturday, July 18. The museum is open every Tuesday through Saturday from 11 am to 5 pm. There is no charge for admission, but donations are gladly accepted. When Camp Gordon Johnston opened in 1942 in Carrabelle, FL, its main purpose was to train entire infantry divisions, including the U. S. Army’s 4th Infantry Division and their support units in amphibious warfare.

| Evening On The Edge of the Sea July 11, 25 Come to the FSU Coastal & Marine Laboratory Saturday, July 11 and July 25 at 5:30 pm for An Evening on the Edge of the Sea to learn about the sea life along the area's pristine shores and shallows. The evening kicks off with a brief overview of local ecology, followed by a walk into the exposed tidal flats to see an array of fascinating creatures.

| July Farmers and Artisans Markets Apalachicola The Apalachicola Farmers' Market will host its July events on Saturday July 11 and July 25 from 9 am to 1pm at 133 Avenue E. Can't wait till the weekend? The Apalachicola Growers Market features fresh vegetables, micro greens, coffee, gourmet goodies and more. Held most Wednesdays from 9am to 1 pm at 56 Commerce Street in Apalachicola.
Carrabelle The Crooked River Lighthouse is hosting a Country Farmer's Market Saturday, July 4 and again on July 18 from 9 am-1 pm at the foot of the lighthouse at 1975 Hwy 98 W, Carrabelle Beach. The Market will feature vendors from the community with locally made goods, fresh roasted coffee, veggies, plants, art, baked goods, photography, craft items, and unique maritime items in the Lighthouse Gift Shop.
