County approved grant to extend water and sewer services in Eastpoint

County commissioners have approved the continuation of a grant that will provide water and sewer services to more customers in Eastpoint. The board agreed to some modifications of phase 2 of a Community Development Block Grant that will allow the Eastpoint water and sewer district to extend sewer service along Ridge Road and connect to existing sewer lines on Wilderness Road. It will also connect the water lines on Ridge and Wilderness roads providing water service to a few more homes on Bear Creek Road. The grant will also pay for the expansion of the vacuum station on 5th street which will help service the new customers. People along Ridge Road and Bear Creek Road who meet income requirements will be able to connect to the water and sewer services for free – some others may have to pay the connection fee.
