County finds temporary workers for trash pickup
County commissioners have signed an agreement with the North Florida Workforce Development Board that should provide a few more workers to pick up trash around the county. The agreement will provide 4 to 5 temporary workers for about 6 months to help clean up trash on roads and parks around popular tourist areas of the county. Specifically the workers would clean up around the St. George Island lighthouse park, Carrabelle Beach Park, and around public beach areas at Alligator Point. The workers will likely be overseen through the county parks and recreation department. The workers will not be allowed to clean up on local bridges, which county commissioners find unfortunate since those are the area that seem to collect the most litter and are most obvious to visitors.
