A march to draw attention to the preservation of the Apalachicola Bay will be held this weekend in Apalachicola.
The march, which is being sponsored by the Franklin County Democratic Executive Committee, is designed to draw attention to the need to protect the bay especially in light of the ongoing deepwater horizon oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.
Organizers say Congressman Allen Boyd will take part in the march, and many other local and state political leaders have been invited to attend. They would also like any local residents, church groups, civic clubs, and other organizations to take part.
It begins at the Apalachicola Community center at Battery Park and will end at the Franklin County Courthouse. The march will begin Sunday evening at 6 though people are asked to come out to the Apalachicola Community center at 5:30.
