The Franklin County Commission will meet tomorrow in Apalachicola and they have a few items of interest on the agenda.
The board will meet with county property appraiser Doris Pendleton to get an estimate of what this year’s tax rolls will look like to see how tough the budget negotiations are going to be this year.
They will also meet with Department of Agriculture worker David Heil to hear a presentation on changes to the Apalachicola Bay Management Plan which take effect this month including changes to the hours oystermen can legally harvest oysters.
Franklin County Sheriff Skip Shiver will meet with the board to discuss the continuation of a contract that allows the county to house state prisoners in the county jail, and Denise Butler will attend the meeting to introduce new members of the Franklin County public library advisory board.
Attorney David Rash is also scheduled to attend to discuss legal issues surrounding the ongoing oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.
The county commission meeting begins at 9 Am on Tuesday – the board will also hold a workshop at 4 in the afternoon to further discuss the Apalachicola Bay Management Plan.
Both meetings will be held at the Franklin County Courthouse Annex in Apalachicola.
